Pediatric Massage Therapy

Infant massage and tummy time are based on evidence based research. Teaching the importance of touch for developmental growth and happiness,
and empowering parents to love and nurture their infant, toddler, child.

Tummy Time

  • Our belly’s are the major Emotion Center of the body
  • Good compression on the softest, most precious parts of a baby’s body
  • Allows developmental and emotional benefits to increase
  • ALL systems work better

Research Studies suggest:

  • Premature infants who are gently massaged can produce higher levels of secreted immunoglobulin A, which protects against respiratory tract infections.
  • Studies show that babies who receive massage, held and rocked are able to cope better during times of stress. Massage Therapy techniques grow with the child and teaches them how to “let go” of their stress!
  • Massage can stimulate the immune system and increase the resistance to infections.
  • When tired, run down or stressed, gentle holds and strokes can calm and allow your child to recover quicker.

Craniosacral Therapy & Myofascial Unwinding:
Craniosacral Therapy is a gentle, hands-on treatment for the whole body. Quiet subtle changes using light touch that usually opens and reduces restrictions that occur in the body.

This treatment and unwinding occurs naturally, with assistance from the therapist, as the child moves to unlock the restrictions, especially
in the nervous system. This is the system that dictates all of the body’s functioning constantly sending and receiving messages.

Massage Therapy is Also Beneficial for:

  • Constipation and Belly Comfort
  • Siblings can participate, gentle foot massage always feel good!

Testimonials

Luke has come so far in his gross and fine motor skills and overall awareness of his self and body since starting OT at Sensory Solutions! The tools we have been given and what we have learned is invaluable. As a child who does not like being outside and struggles with motor coordination, Luke has now taken to riding his scooter! He now asks to go outside and ride, and he smiles while riding which melts our hearts! He is a confident young man now.
