Neurofeedback

Neurofeedback challenges the brain to better function. It is direct training of the brain function to address difficulties with disregulation. Neurofeedback is the process in which an individual learns to exercise their own brain activity, stretching and strengthening their brain. During the neurofeedback section you are able to see what your brain is doing by a direct reward system to the game or movie being viewed. During this session the brain is rewarded for going into a calming or more regulated direction, which ultimately trains the nervous system to function more efficiently.

Many people can benefit from neurofeedback. It can help with a variety of challenges for children and adults. These include ADHD, autism, sensory processing disorder, sleep issues, anxiety, and depression, amongst others.

At Sensory Solutions LLC we use the latest HD software available for neurofeedback.  We use the Cygnet software program developed by the Othmers at EEGinfo.  For more information on Cygnet visit www.eeginfo.com

Testimonials

Before starting occupational therapy, Daphne was much more sensitive to environmental discomforts. However, things have been changing for her since meeting with Julie. Historically, getting Daphne to wear sunscreen was always a battle. Also, Daphne avoided being in the rain, and at times felt anxious or even cried when she couldn’t avoid it. But on our recent vacation we had some pleasant surprises. Daphne said the sunscreen felt good when applied. Additionally, when sand accidentally got mixe din the sunscreen, she said it hurt a little but she tolerated it. This was a truly amazing transformation for her. These and other changes have come about after doing OT with Sensory Solutions. Now Daphne is better able to cope with her environment and participate in life more fully. We are grateful for how positively she and our family have been effected by OT.
